Custom Fleet achieves Rainbow Tick certification

Custom Fleet has been awarded the New Zealand Rainbow Tick certification, demonstrating our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming space for employees from LGBTQIA+ communities.

This achievement reflects the passion, dedication, and tenacity of our Pride workstream, as part of our broader Diversity network, Intersection.

Achieving and maintaining our certification is an important part of our journey in creating a safe and inclusive workplace for the LGBTQIA+ community to belong, as part of our Diversity Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Strategy.

Custom Fleet achieves Rainbow Tick certification

How did we achieve the NZ Rainbow Tick certification?

Custom Fleet was assessed against the Rainbow Tick standards in three key areas:

  1. Leadership
  2. Organisational development
  3. External engagement

We’ve implemented a number of initiatives under each of these which resulted in us achieving this certification:

  • Launch of a Gender Inclusion and Affirmation Leave Policy
  • Delivery of LGBTQIA+ Awareness and Empowering Allies training
  • Implementation of an all-gender bathroom in the Auckland office
  • Updated gender options within our internal systems to include more options for employees
  • Development of an LGBTQIA+ inclusive language guide
  • Development of LGBTQIA+ ally guide

NZ crew inclusiveness survey

As part of our submission, we also surveyed our New Zealand crew to hear their perspectives on LGBTQIA+ inclusivity at Custom Fleet.

Survey results were overwhelmingly positive, with 95% of respondents agreeing that Custom Fleet is an accepting and inclusive organisation for the LGBTQIA+ community.

This feedback was wonderful to receive and reinforces the positive impact this important work is having on our crew.

Thank you to all members of the Pride team

It’s the hard work of our Pride team members that have helped Custom Fleet achieve this certification.

We look forward to the second half of 2024 as we build upon these initiatives and continue to foster an inclusive workplace for all our crew.
